An agenda for the working class

It's time we invested in working Texans, and not just the billionaires

Unrigging our Broken Political System

The system is swampy and rigged when politicians care more about their donors than their voters. We need to end big money’s grip on our government.  Restoring trust in our democracy starts with getting corporate money out of politics. We will push to clean up Texas politics.

Lowering food costs

In Texas, the 7th largest economy in the world, no family should go hungry, and no Texan should have to choose between rent and food. It’s time we make sure everyone always has access to healthy, affordable, and delicious food they can count on.

Childcare and Pre-K

The cost of Texas daycare is growing out of control.  Working parents shouldn’t have to choose between keeping their job and paying for childcare. Affordable childcare and pre-K give every kid a strong start and let families keep food on the table.

Making Billionaires Pay their Fair Share

It’s simple: the system is rigged. While hardworking Texans are paying taxes on every dollar they earn, billionaires and big corporations are getting away with paying little to nothing. They use loopholes and lobbyists to buy off politicians and avoid their responsibility, leaving the rest of us to carry the burden.

Everyone should pay their fair share to keep our roads paved, schools funded, and communities safe. When billionaires dodge taxes, it’s our families and small businesses that pay the price.

Universal healthcare

Nobody should have to skip a doctor’s visit because they can’t afford it. Healthcare isn’t a luxury—it’s a basic right for every Texan.  It's time to invest in Texans' healthcare and not just the profits of private insurance companies.  We won't hesitate to stand up to big Pharma and the private health-care insurance companies that have made too many Texans pay more out of pocket for health-care than folks in other developed countries.

Building Housing for All & Lowering your Rent

The rent is too damn high, and Houston families are being pushed out of their homes. We need to build enough homes for new families, crack down on international shell companies and big corporations bidding up housing, and lower the price of rent.  Everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to live without going broke and to be able to buy a house to build wealth for their family.

Power costs

The cost of reliable and affordable power has been skyrocketing, but outages keep going up.  Texans deserve affordable energy that doesn’t bleed the budget dry while wealthy corporations rake in billions.
